Bowie Tribute - Absolute Bowie

Absolute Bowie were formed through a chance meeting and a mutual love of David Bowie’s music.
After first conceiving the idea of a Bowie tribute we needed to create a dynamic in order to accomplish our goal. To create the authentic feel, we needed the right musicians. We searched far and wide - our musical journey was finally nearing its end as we gathered our spaceboys one by one.
Choosing the material from db’s back catalogue was difficult given that there are so many great songs in his vast repertoire. The only unanimous decision was to leave out ‘The Laughing Gnome’ (sorry if this is one of your favourites, but unfortunately you will not be catered for!) Even the man himself feigned deafness when fans requested the ’song’.

"Jokers" The Ocelot Comedy Club

Top night of comedy with 3 top comedians and MC
All Seated

AL PITCHER
‘Pitcher sits firmly in the improvising, rambling, freewheeling comedy camp inhabited by the likes of Ross Noble and Eddie Izzard. However, unlike both of them, Pitcher is one of the best-kept secrets on the comedy scene. He is a diamond as yet not hewn from the circuit rock. But it's only a matter of time’ Time Out 2008

ALI COOK
Ali has written and starred in seven television series for ITV, Channel 4, Five and Sky One. He is best known for his comedy series: Dirty Tricks (Channel 4) and Monkey Magic (Five). Both series were nominated for The Golden Rose of Montreaux and The British Comedy Awards

RYAN MCDONNELL
Belfast boy Ryan McDonnell is no stranger to laughs in his home town and is currently building up quite a reputation for himself on the UK comedy circuit. Keeping his comedy roots very staunchly embedded in his Northern Ireland upbringing, he interjects a sharp wit and Irish charm in his observation of everyday life.

MC- STUART BLACK
Stuart Black's comedy is intelligent, twisted, dark, and very funny delivered in a relaxed and conversational style. Using language to paint colourful images, Stuart Black ponders life’s mysteries and frustrations.

PAIGE
Musical comparisons could be made to Stateside pop-punk heavyweights such as New Found Glory, Four Year Strong and Hit the Lights.

LINCHPIN

A BECKONING SILENCE

"Hey, we are A Beckoning Silence. We have been playing with the current line-up since August 2008 after winning the Swindon Music Service Battle of the Bands. Airrace (Featuring Jason Bonham) + Coach

Following a period of uncertainty, Jason Bonham has committed to the reunion of 1980s UK melodic hard rockers Airrace.

Bonham, son of late Led Zeppelin drummer John, will definitely play with the reconvened band when they support Thunder in Sheffield and Cambridge on July 4 and 5 and the 12 Bar Swindon.
Completing the rhythm section in place of bassist Jim Reid is ex-Samson four-stringer Dave Boyce. Dean Howard (T Pau/Ian Gillan/Toby Jepson) has also been engaged as Airrace’s second guitarist, augmenting original members Keith Murrell (vocals), Laurie Mansworth (guitar) and Toby Sadler (keyboards).

The reunion is partly attributable to the recent Wounded Bird Records re-issue of Airrace’s one and only album, Shaft Of Light, produced by Beau Hill of Ratt/Winger/Warrant fame and first released via Atco in 1984.

However, as Mansworth tells Classic Rock: Its starting to look like it could be an ongoing thing and we will work together in the future – there might even be a second album.
