Guns 2 Roses

GUNS 2 ROSES
Guns 2 Roses have existed since late 2002. Regarded by many to be the biggest GNR tribute in the world with the credentials to prove it! Many tributes have tried but not one comes close to the authenticity and natural charisma Guns 2 Roses has to emulate GNR which has even impressed and been approved by members of the original line up of Guns N Roses. Guns 2 Roses are known worldwide and have played to thousands throughout the UK, Europe and USA!

* In 2005 they became the first tribute band to play the world famous Marquee club and Hard Rock Cafe in London.

The Urban Folk Quartet

Having been discovered in their teens by legendary artists The Albion Band and Carlos
N respectively, Joe and Palomas careers have in many ways taken1parallel paths,
both gaining much experience touring the world but not until now having time to form
their own bands. In 2004 they performed their first fiddle duet together to great
acclaim and so the seeds were sown.
Joe and Frank met at the Birmingham Conservatoire school of music in 1996 and
realised then that they had a lot of common musical interests. Doubtless their
conversations about folk and world music against the backdrop of the fusion
obsessed Birmingham scene would later become the foundations of The Urban Folk
Quartet.
In the way that some times wonderful synchronicity does happen, just as the concept
for The UFQ was developing, Tom was experimenting with a caj ased drum set up
that was perfect for full percussion sounds as well as the more industrial noises of the
city. While Palomas Galician roots were mixing with Franks obsession with the Oud
and Joes ear for a good Rock groove, Tom had invented a set up that could underpin
every one of those influences and ensure that The Urban Folk Quartet does have a
truly unique sound.
Virtuosic not just in feel and technical ability but in musical concept as well, The
Urban Folk Quartet is a coming together of four of the most inspired and experienced
young people working in World Music today.

M/C JAMES REDMOND ( Star of Holly Oaks & Casualty)
James Redmond is a dry, slick and subtle stand up who delivers unexpected twists and turns during his set as he deconstructs his art.

He has a track record as a model and actor and is best known for seminal roles in ‘Hollyoaks’ (C4) and ‘Casualty’ (BBC 1) as well as having presented CD UK alongside Cat Deeley and appeared as a guest on ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ (BBC 2), Celebrity Who wants to be a Millionaire; (ITV 1) and ‘Soccer AM’ (Sky 1).

A somewhat crazy yorkshire character, irritated at most things; everythings up for a sideswipe by this character’s humour (humour that’s just a little bit in all of us).
Keith is a pro comic returning to the circuit after an absence of leave
He is now back but with this fully rounded character capable of competing with many headliners offstage, often getting the best laugh of the night and stealing the show.
Like a Yorkshire ‘Al Murray’ he’s got bags of energy and as well as his act, ad libbs, deals with Heckles and comes up with topical stuff while remaining in character.

Second Act LAURA CARR
Laura Carr is fresh-faced newbie on the comedy circuit and has been performing stand up for just over three months. Aged just 22 years of age Laura has charm and humour that is friendly and inviting and her anecdotes are extremely hilarious. From her childhood at a naturist park in Norfolk, to living in London in her late teens, Laura shares the many trials and tribulation she faces as a young women with daring honesty.

Headline Act JUNIOR SIMPSON
With his infectious energy and huge stage presence it is easy to see why Junior Simpson is a circuit favourite. Simpson has a boundless joy and exuberance that has audiences hooked with hilarity. A true observational comic Simpson finds his humour in the everyday and humdrum with anecdotes of his world travels as a comedian adding a personal originality to his set. Although mischevious and daring, Simpson is never crass or crude and can tailor his set to suit any audience making him a favourite for warm up, TV and corporate work.

Panic Room + Chris Johnson

PANIC ROOM
With the eclectic box of delights of their debut album, Visionary Position behind them, Panic Room are set to build on their reputation as a powerful and subtle group of performers with the new album Satellite due for imminent release. With their roots in proto-celtic prog band, Karnataka, (4 of the band were members of the original award-winning line-up), Panic Room is a very different beast with a much harder edge and a spontaneous and improvisational quality that makes their live performances such compelling events. Strong, melodic song writing wedded to a desire to reinvent the music in the live arena saw them pick up the award for Best New Band at the CRS Awards in January 2009.

Joy Division Tribute - Transmission + 1000 Planets - Killing Joke Set

Devoted to recreating the atmosphere of a live Joy Division gig, Transmission emulate the sound of one of the most inventive, evocative and influential groups of their era. Joy Division were formed in the late 1970s and dissolved in May 1980 after the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis. The remaining members went on to form New Order and have achieved much critical and commercial success. The influence of Joy Division, however, was far reaching. They were considered the pioneering band of the post-punk movement of the late 1970s and early 1980s. More than 20 years on you can still relive the dark cavernous sound of Joy Division through Transmission one of the leading UK tribute bands.

The Jim Jones Revue + John E Vistic

THE JIM JONES REVUE

Best live act on the circuit.

Europes underground rock n roll sensation The Jim Jones Revue
Savage and soul drenched rock & roll from London. Jim Jones stirs up his disciples like a diabolical preacher, while his stage antics add fuel to the fire. His electrifying band, including a bastard son of The Killer, invokes the filthy swing.

JOHN E VISTIC
As well as everything else they've got going for them (tight, focused band, compelling frontman, superb whisky-soaked vocals and fantastic blues-rock tunes) they're a prolific bunch, so there's never any danger of seeing them run through the same set that you might have heard a few months earlier

James Taylor Quartet

After the collapse of mod legends The Prisoners in the 1980's, and before moving to Sweden, Hammond player James Taylor recorded some demo's with brother David on guitar, the bass player from The Prisoners, a drummer from down the road... and thus The James Taylor Quartet were born. From tiny acorns do mighty oaks grow, and it wasn't long before the first single, 'Blow Up' had been released, the band were back in the studio rehearsing for the 'Mission Impossible' EP, gigs were booked, and the late John Peel was offering a session. Skip forward 20 years and where are we now? Well, JTQ have evolved into one of the most exciting and well respected touring bands in the UK. With 20 albums to their name, the bands recorded output is not to be scoffed at either. 'Prolific' is an understatement, with albums touching genres as diverse as jazz, funk, soul, rock, and even rap, not to mention a handful of library albums in between. The new album 'A Taste Of Cherry' takes the band off in another direction once more. An incredibly well thought out recording, this is an absolute must have for any Hammond fan - James' playing providing a solid and accomplished lead as always. Live, the band are explosive. With a catalogue that diverse, there really is something for everyone at a JTQ gig, and the relentless touring schedule means that, these days, there aren't many people who haven't heard of the band.
